Mission & Goals

Mission:

Since 2004, MSF provides psycho-medico-social support program in Nablus.
The project targets both adults and children who have experienced or witnessed an event of violence related to the conflicts (Israeli-Palestinian or Intra-Palestinians) and shows consequent psychological suffering impeding their normal life (attendance to school, work, movement, participation to social & familial events, etc…). It aims to help the patients to maintain an acceptable level of global health (medical and psychological).

The social/outreach workers present in the program also ensure referrals between isolated communities / individuals and major social organisation/actors able to provide them with relevant care.

The project targets the population of Nablus and Qalqilya governorates and focuses mostly on isolated villages, confronted to regular violent situations.

The general objective is to alleviate the psychological suffering of people living in sensitive areas (mainly rural areas) of the northern West Bank and to mitigate the pejorative psychological effects of the conflict’s violence on the daily life of patients.

Goals:

1 – To provide short/mid term psychotherapy depending on the patients needs.
2 – To provide Medical/Social assistance to the most in need patients and their families.
3 - To respond efficiently to emergencies (e.g. burst of violence, natural catastrophe) in NWB
